wintressrain was bugging me about Fanime pictures. Waiting for stuff to recompile, I did this to hold her over.

(Shininess is playing around in post, not optical filters. I don't think this is a good picture. But I wanted to try out that Star Trek look, and this had suitable in-frame light sources. Not sure it makes any sense here. But might be cool for something sci-fi-ish, if anyone is interested in that sort of look.)

I'm wrote this shortly after Fanime as things were fresh in my mind. The delay in posting is because I wanted to wait for processing pictures, because I'm sure that's what you really want, not a wall of text. I don't have all the pictures done yet. I'll post a gallery link later (1wk?) once everything is uploaded. But there are some pictures in this post.

I was going to post this before I left, but didn't have a chance... I was planning to have my male Suigintou done to wear today. I couldn't get it done enough in time.

EDIT/PS (2008 May 26): Fanime pics/report will not be posted for at least one week, probably two. I didn't take a lot of pictures, though there are a few very nice ones.
EDIT/PS (2008 May 27): Um... so actually I took over 1,000 exposures, which I'd guess translates to about 200 pictures. A lot to sort through, so maybe 2+ weeks.

I've decided that Friday at Fanime this year is photography day for me. I'm already taking pictures for yoshikochan & whitelilacs's Prince of Tennis group (3pm+). And I think I'll dress as Ikki Yoneda that day, which is easy to move around in and relatively practical for carrying stuff.

Is anyone else reading this interested? I was thinking 1pm for something bright & colorful (Air Gear for example), and after dinner (7pm+) for something more dramatic. And possibly a 2^nd evening shoot. Evening presents interesting challenges, so I'm hoping to spend a lot of time, and try a lot of experiments (natural light, light painting, balancing off-camera flash w/ low natural light, using high shutters speed + flashes for a pitch black background, HDR, etc.). Though to try anything, I need people to photograph.

I've posted in Fanime's forums, and there are a few bites there. Unfortunately not one from any series I'm particularly familiar with yet. Any chance inuashley813 might be interested in donning Tyki and maybe know an Allen with an activated arm? (Or if you can't do it Friday, then late Sunday, after the ball perhaps?)
